Simple Language – SA:MP scripts in Russian

An experiment from 2019: an interpreter that lets you write simple SA:MP scripts with Russian commands, no English required.

Simple Language is an interpreter I posted on BLAST.HK on June 19, 2019. The idea came from Kumir, the educational language used in Russian schools: commands in Russian, so that someone who doesn't know English, let alone Lua, could write a simple SA:MP script.

How it works

  • The SimpleCore engine sits in the moonloader folder and runs as a regular Lua script.
  • User scripts are .smp files in the simple folder. The engine reads them and executes the commands through MoonLoader.
  • Some commands need SAMPFUNCS with its console and SF-Integration.
  • The archive (5 KB) includes a demo script.

The code is open: you can change and redistribute it as long as you keep the copyright notice at the top of the file.

Why

It was a small experiment, and the template in the archive was enough to write a working script.

More serious work came later: a year on, SEVEN and I started SL:MP, a multiplayer mod for GTA: San Andreas written in Lua.
