**Simple Language** is an interpreter I posted on BLAST.HK on **June 19, 2019**. The idea came from Kumir, the educational language used in Russian schools: commands in Russian, so that someone who doesn't know English, let alone Lua, could write a simple SA:MP script.

## How it works

- The **SimpleCore** engine sits in the `moonloader` folder and runs as a regular Lua script.
- User scripts are `.smp` files in the `simple` folder. The engine reads them and executes the commands through MoonLoader.
- Some commands need SAMPFUNCS with its console and SF-Integration.
- The archive (5 KB) includes a demo script.

The code is open: you can change and redistribute it as long as you keep the copyright notice at the top of the file.

## Why

It was a small experiment, and the template in the archive was enough to write a working script.

More serious work came later: a year on, SEVEN and I started [SL:MP](https://pakulichev.com/en/projects/sl-mp), a multiplayer mod for GTA: San Andreas written in Lua.

## FAQ

### How do I run a Simple Language script?

The SimpleCore engine goes into the moonloader folder, and .smp scripts go into the simple folder. The archive includes a demo script.
